OAC found itself in a precarious position, marked by frequent power outages. These interruptions, stemming from the lack of a reliable backup power system, not only disrupted their operations but also inflicted considerable financial losses and posed a threat to the integrity of their equipment.
The persistent instability of the grid compounded these issues, compelling the OAC to urgently seek a sustainable solution to protect their operations and ensure uninterrupted productivity.
Client's Goals
At the start of the project, Dontuwire collaborated closely with the OAC to overcome the limitations of the current infrastructure by developing practical solutions in line with the client’s main objectives:
- Enhancing Energy Reliability: OAC sought to diminish its reliance on Eskom’s erratic grid power, aiming to simultaneously cut down energy expenses and the company’s carbon footprint.
- Protecting Equipment Integrity: OAC has prioritised safeguarding equipment integrity to mitigate any potential damage from grid instability.
- Ensuring Uninterrupted Operations: OAC aimed to ensure seamless and uninterrupted operations caused by power outages.
Our Solutions
OAC’s pursuit of a dependable backup power system led them to forge a partnership with Dontuwire, a trailblazer in cutting-edge energy solutions. Our collaboration resulted in creating and implementing a comprehensive hybrid power system meticulously crafted to address the client’s unique challenges.
We deployed one 50kW ATESS Hybrid inverter, bolstering the client’s infrastructure with a robust 55kVA backup power capacity. Coupled with a 114.4kWh HV SolarMD SS7011 battery, this system ensures steadfast energy storage and an uninterrupted power supply. Moreover, we installed a solar ground mount structure, which integrated 160 JA Solar Panels, boasting a capacity of 564W each. This solar configuration not only diminishes the client’s dependency on Eskom but empowers them to harness renewable energy, aligning with their cost-saving objectives.
By integrating advanced technologies and utilising renewable energy sources, we effectively minimise the risks associated with power outages. As a result, we have taken a significant step towards a more sustainable and resilient future for the Old Apostolic Church picnic grounds. This project showcases Dontuwire’s unwavering commitment to delivering tailored energy solutions that meet the ever-changing needs of our commercial clients, ensuring their continued success.
